Quilting in Kuwait

As I stated in my first post, my home base is NE Colorado. I frequently travel overseas to follow my husband's contract jobs. So, I have been blessed to be able to visit many countries and see the many crafts that are done throughout the world.

At this time, I am in Kuwait. I have met a lady that has taken me to the Fabric Souks - which are several fabric stores all in one area. There is not much cotton fabric here - but many beautiful fabrics including silks, batiks, beaded fabrics and very ornate fabrics. The notion stores have more trims and buttons and threads than you can imagine. I haven't purchased anything yet, as I am still trying to learn my way around the area.

I am working on Sunbonnet Sue baby quilts and a printed cross-stitch wallhanging quilt at this time. I am also quilting a hand-pieced Christmas wallhanging quilt that I pieced together several years ago and I am slowly getting it quilted. Maybe I will be able to display it this Christmas!

Signing off for now!

All about me!

Welcome to my very first blog!!

My name is Diana, my home base is northeastern Colorado. I have been quilting for about 12 years. Although I am a CRAFT NUT, I have decided to use this blog for QUILTING ideas, patterns and tips. I have done dressmaking, quilting, knitting, crochet, cross stitch, stained glass, scrapbooking, rug hooking and even beading. I love doing crafts because it is cheaper than a psychiatrist.

Bookmark this blog and check back often for tips, patterns and links for quilt related sites.

Thanks for looking!
